INTRODUCING THE ARTWORK

Today, I wanted to take a moment to discuss another one of my abstract painting. I chose to name it “A Marasmatic Child.” Because the central focus of this artwork lies in the graphic depiction of a face adorned with a black cloak.

I would like to present to you the final photo for your attention:

Extra details regarding this painting:

  • Completed June 5, 2022.
  • I utilized three different types of acrylic paint.
  • The artwork is adorned with a hand-painted frame.

This artwork embodies my unique concept and technique, born out of my explorations and experimentation with paints. The main concept of this idea revolves around using a mono or combined background color, along with colored rectangular abstract mini-sections. The composition is further enhanced with bold strokes of black acrylic and a psychedelic mosaic. This combination creates a visually engaging and dynamic composition that captures attention.

I thoroughly enjoy this freestyle!

Now, let’s dive into the intricacies of the creative process behind “A Marasmatic Child” picture.

CREATING THIS ARTWORK: A DETAILED GUIDE

I began by marking off rectangular sections using masking tape. Afterward, I proceeded to fill the first half of the sheet with a blue color.

The first step

I then proceeded to adorn the remaining half of the paper with a striking hue of fuchsia. This paint is water-based.

After the paint has fully dried, it is time to delicately remove the masking tape. This is the result:

At the same time, I was in the midst of personalizing my trusted anorak jacket. There was an idea to make it bright and provocative. Incidentally, up until now, I have yet to complete this project.

The frame was also painted in a striking combination of blue and fuchsia. However, in this case, the color arrangement is opposite to that found on paper. I created a counter-position in the final form, anticipating the placement of the painting within the frame. This deliberate approach enhances the overall aesthetics and artistic impact.

The first layer has been completed

Next, I proceeded to fill in the blank spaces within the abstract shapes. I used acrylic paint for fabric.

I used masking tape to ensure the sections’ borders remain evenly aligned, maintaining a neat and symmetrical appearance.

Rather than discarding masking tape, I collect and repurpose it as texture elements for my abstract compositions. This creative approach adds depth and visual interest to my artwork, allowing me to explore the unique possibilities that masking tape can offer. There will be forthcoming articles covering these projects in the near future.

Now is the moment to create bold and expressive strokes using black acrylic paint. With a stationary knife in hand, I applied the paint onto the paper’s surface. In the end, I dispersed the remnants of the paint in a manner that produced sporadic little black droplets, aligning harmoniously with my composition.

Time for a psychedelic mosaic. I created this mosaic using my legendary stencils.

I used this stencils and spray paint to apply the final layer.

I repeated the process with the frame. For the frame to seamlessly continue the composition and create a unified image, it should flow harmoniously from the center to the very edge.

I began by applying thick layers of acrylic paint. They conform to the frame, providing relief and shape.

Next, I applied a layer of psychedelic mosaic to the frame.

MY PERSPECTIVE ON THE ELEMENTS PORTRAYED IN THIS PAINTING

“A Marasmatic Child” as abstract image, its interpretation may vary among viewers. Here, everyone has the ability to perceive their objects and elements, or choose not to perceive them. These works possess an added dimension of value and significance. Their inherent qualities elevate them beyond the ordinary, making them truly exceptional. That is my opinion.

From my perspective as the author, I will introduce the objects depicted in this abstract picture.

This artwork contains several significant elements:

The face

The face of a strange teenager. Why did I refer to him as “Marasmatic”? In reality, this face neither resembles that of a teenager, nor that of an elderly person. Hence, “Marasmatic” serves as a figurative way to add depth and meaning to the process of identifying this object.

This the finished appearance.

Royal Penguin

And this is a royal penguin. Additionally, he possesses the characteristics reminiscent of a crow. The object, as it transpired, proved to be an utterly extraordinary entity! There no limits to the boundaries of my imagination!

“Conquistador”

Although object is remotely linked to the conquistador, it bears little relevance to their history. Notwithstanding that, it enthralls with its captivating elements, showcasing a profile of a human face with voluminous headdress.

My perspective on a cloak.

FLUORESCENT FACTOR

The picture also features paints with a fluorescent effect. I present a couple of pictures showcasing the transformative beauty of this artwork. It displays its remarkable ability to appear distinctively unique under the influence of ultraviolet lighting.
